My Portfolio is done so far. I updated the illustration section, deleted some artworks and put some new ones.

While working i got a lot new ideas for illustrations. Will realize them soon! In october i will visit the Frankfurt Bookfair, so i need good artworks in my map to show.

Time for an update... examination is done and i´m starting fresh projects and works. First: pep up my portfolio!
Somehow i stick with maritime artworks for the moment.

That means the homepages illustration section will get a makeover too when i´m done with my new artworks. (will take a while...)
Maybe i do a new homepage layout too.

It´s done! My "examination paper" about the seafaring legends, for the illustrationschool is done. At the last minute!

Now there´s just only the oral exam left...

I´ve finished the fifth painting of seven about my seafaring legends.
Whales:

It´s my favorite along with the Mermaids.
So, i´ve done The Mermaids, The Kraken, The Sea Serpent, Ghost sightings and The Whales.
Now there are another two paintings i have to do: The flying Dutchman and The Ship´s Kobold. Land, ho!

So it´s my last semester now since two months. My Project is about old seafaring legends like the kraken and the flying dutchman.
It´s sooo much to do and i want to colour the paintings with oil-colours and on A2 size... *sigh*
But i like this topic a lot, it´s very interesting and theres so much room for fantasies and the sea has such an attracting atmosphere.
I´m just scared about the deadline... it´s the 17th March and the time flies by so quickly!
So this is my first painting:

The second one will be the kraken. I hope i can do all the paintings in time... six to go!(plus the Books cover) And thats not all. After that i have to draw another 7 illustrations about those old seafaring storys... at least i do them only in black and white and smaller sized. *phew*

Theres a band which music makes me feel calm, happy and energetic at the same time. "the pillows".

I just love their music and i hope Sawao-san and his mates never stop to bring this joy to my ears.

Another Project i have is to illustrate japanese "youkai","bakemono" (demons/ghosts) for some kind of fact book. I´m very interested in these old folk storys and wish there were such kind of book where i can read all those facts about the "youkai". So i came up with the idea to make one by myself.

It took me a long time to find the right style for the illustrations of the "youkai". Here are two examples for that:

One of my current Projects is to illustrate Posters for the japanese series "Utahime". I want to improve my skills in drawing faces. I really like to draw people but i´m very slow at it.

I love "Utahime" it´s such a warm and charming story and appeals like a stage play. The characters are wonderful, thats why i choosed this series for my Artworks.

If you´re interested in Japan like me, you may know these little wodden dolls named Kokeshis. I really love them and collect them.
But thats difficult because they are hard to get in germany (once i´ve found one ^^) and i have to order them from Japan. So i thought about making them myself:

My first handmade Kokeshi. I named her Haruko.

Again, i decided to change my Layout and decided to run this website in english for now on. (still learning, i´m sorry for any mistakes.)

I have a lot of projects to do at the moment and i will show some details about them soon.
